Jane Lewis Grubb Eliason of Chestertown, MD died at home on Monday, July 23, 2012 of ovarian cancer. She was 72.
Mrs. Eliason was born on October 11, 1939 in Centreville, Maryland. She was the daughter of the late Major and Mrs. Ernest Wilmer Grubb of Centreville, Maryland.
She was married to John Cree Eliason of Chestertown, Maryland in 1989. Her marriage to the Reverend William Harris Fallowfield ended in divorce.
Mrs. Eliason was a 1957 graduate of Centreville High School. She attended Longwood College, Towson State Teacher College, Baltimore Jr. College and Chesapeake College.
A lifelong volunteer, Jane has always been active in her community. Her interests include History, Genealogy, the Episcopal Church, The Daughters of the American Revolution, as well as political, health and education issues.
She is survived by her husband, John C. Eliason of Chestertown, MD, a daughter, Elizabeth Fallowfield DePalma of Alexandria, VA, a son, Jonathan Shepard Fallowfield (Emily) of Lexington Park, MD and three grandchildren, Adam Gregory DePalma of Brooklyn, NY, Anthony Gerard DePalma of Alexandria, VA and Jessica Fallowfield of Lexington Park, MD. She is also survived by a brother, Richard Rutledge Neil Grubb (Patricia) of Harrisburg, PA. A sister, Mirian Grubb predeceased her.
The funeral will take place on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at 1:30 pm at Saint Paul’s Parish (Old Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church) 7579 Sandy Bottom Road, Chestertown, Maryland. A reception in the parish hall will follow immediately after the service.
